The reducibility and mechanical properties of iron ore sinter in blast furnace is critical to effective plant operation. reduction reaction sinters progresses heterogeneously owing microstructures with various mineral phases pore networks. process was investigated by semi-microbeam synchrotron X-ray multimodal analysis. Heterogeneous chemical state evolution Fe trigger sites crack formation were visualized using two-dimensional K-edge absorption near-edge structure analysis discussed based on gas transfer. elemental composition map diffraction microanalysis also combined reveal the microprocesses during reduction, such as calcium ferrite decomposition crystal grain growth.
